Local Labour MPs Louise Ellman and Luciana Berger were star attractions at Sunday's Liverpool Limmud at the new King David campus.
The 400-plus turnout had the choice of more than 40 adult sessions and a further 15 for young people.
Mrs Ellman discussed making Israel's case in Parliament, Ms Berger spoke about her experiences as a young, female, Jewish MP.
Bangor University film studies lecturer Nathan Abrams gave a popular presentation on the portrayal of Jews in film and Daniel Cainer performed songs from his show, Jewish Chronicles, which was a sell-out at the Edinburgh Festival.
The contribution of Jewish composers to British and American music was highlighted by Michael Swerdlow in "From the Bimah to Broadway".
Judaica and Israeli jewellery were among items on sale at the Mersey Market Place and the event concluded with a specially written revue by the Newcastle Players, culminating in a rendition of You'll Never Learn Alone.
Liverpool Limmud co-chair Eric Cohen said the King David campus had been chosen as the Limmud venue to show the wider community how proud they were of their new school buildings.
