Haroldeans boss Gee: Title is ours to lose

Haroldeans boss Ivan Gee says the MJSL title is his side?s to lose after they crushed title challengers Oakhill 4-0 to move nine points clear.

Jamie Harris scored twice, while Bobby Abrams and Cabral Christian were also on target as second place Oakhill were blown away.

And Gee says his side?s latest display shows they are determined to finish off the title race with a minimum of fuss.

?It was our best performance of the season,? said Gee. ?I was a bit worried because we hadn?t played since the start of December, but our quality was great.

?We?re nine points clear now and it?s our title to lose, but we?re not taking anything for granted.

?There are some good teams in this league and we still have a long way to go.

?But if we play for the rest of the season like we did against Oakhill, then I think we?ll do it.

?The conditions were atrocious and the wind was really strong, but I thought we were fabulous.?

Haroldeans face Leeds Maccabi 3rd next Sunday with Alex Ullmann?s side having improved markedly since their disappointing start to the season.

And Gee has warned his players to expect a tough test as they continue their quest for the title.

?In past years, we?ve struggled against the so-called lesser teams and have come undone.

?But if we play like we did against Oakhill we?ll win well.

?We won?t be taking Leeds lightly and we don?t want to go back to the old days where we used to slip up.?
