Morning Call: Cloud increasing - Rain in the north, Feb 21 - 06:06

A frosty start in the south then cloud increasing with rain in northern areas Good morning, It's a very cold start to the morning across the south and east of England. Here a hard overnight frost has reduced temperatures to well below freezing. There is plenty of sunshine around in the south, although with cloud increasing from the north it may well take some time for temperatures to rise, but we should see 6C this afternoon.

To the north a different airmass has been brought about by a warm front passing east. This is bringing lots of cloud with it, and some outbreaks of rain. Most of the rain is across the north and west of Scotland and northwest England.

Through this afternoon the north is going to be staying cloudy with further spells of rain. Most of this is likely over the western slopes of Scotland and over the western Pennines. Elsewhere most of the rain should be light and patchy.

Have a great day. Simon me at simon.keeling@weatheronline.co.uk
