Gothelf eyes Oakhill glory

Oakhill boss Zack Gothelf reckons his side’s team spirit will give them the extra edge in Sunday’s Harold Feldman Cup final.

The Lions lads will have dinner together on Friday and Saturday night as they seek to plot their third successive Feldman Cup triumph.

And Gothelf, who will put revision for his final year exams on the backburner for the weekend, says his players are desperate to defeat Manchester Maccabi 3rd on Sunday.

“We’re always very confident and that’s got a lot to do with our team spirit,” he said.

“We all get on very well both on and off the field and we’ll be spending the lead up to the final together.

“We’ve got a few things planned and we know what to expect from Maccabi.

“They’re a very well organised team with some very good players and they have a few experienced players.

“It will be a tough game and we’re going to have to be on it from the very start.”

Oakhill have already defeated Maccabi twice in the league this season and warmed up for Sunday’s final by defeating Sporting JLGB 5-3 in the MJSL.

Gothelf added: “We played some very good stuff against Sporting and hopefully we’ll take that into the final.

“We’ll be playing on the big pitch at Salford City FC and I think that will suit our game.

“We like to pass the ball around and the extra space will really help us.”
