NWLJ Jet Off to cup final

EXCEL LEAGUE CUP UNDER 12 SEMI-FINAL
NWLJ 3 Letchmore 2

North West London Jets under-12's beat Letchmore 3-2 in the cup semi-final to set up a cup final showdown with HISHU.

Letchmore flew out of the blocks with an early opener after the Jets gave away a throw-on deep in their half. Letchmore launched the ball towards the far post which was met with a powerful header into the roof of the net.

NWLJ were constantly on the back foot with Letchmore dominating possession but equalised just before half time with David Amor capitalising on a defensive lapse, slotting the ball past the goalkeeper.

Joel Leighton put NWLJ ahead shortly after the break with some great individual play, taking the ball past one defender and slotting the ball round the Letchmore goalkeeper.

Leighton was on the hunt for a brace and was rewarded for his efforts courtesy of a marvellous strike into the far corner of the net eight minutes from time.

Letchmore pulled one back with two minutes to go, from a free kick which was whipped in from the left and headed in at the far post.

The Jets held on for the win and look forward to the cup final next week.
