Leeds Maccabi 2nd crash out

Leeds Maccabi 2nd crashed out of the Sunday Alliance Division One Cup following a narrow 2-1 defeat by Temple FC.

Despite dominating the game for long periods, Leeds were indebted to goalkeeper Jamie Rudette, who produced a stunning penalty save to keep his side level after 21 minutes.

But Temple, who are third in the league table, did eventually make the breakthrough and added another before half-time to stamp their authority on the game.

Mark Korn pulled a goal back after the interval and 16-year-old Dan Davidson came within inches of grabbing an equaliser.

But boss Simon Fisher was left to reflect on another defeat, with his side also boasting the unenviable record of having lost all eight league matches so far this season.

?I am delighted with the attitude and commitment in the last 2 games,? he said.

?While the results have not gone our way, we have competed 100 per cent for the whole of these games.

?We are very close to producing good victories.?
