Red-hot Jerusalem put eight past Modiin

A master-class of attacking football and finishing from Jerusalem strikers Moishe Lewis and Eran Ben Ari secured a resounding 8-1 victory for the side from the capital at struggling Modiin.

Jerusalem put their inconsistent start to the campaign behind them in Modiin and had bagged the points by half-time after establishing a 4-0 lead.

A long ball through from Jerusalem captain Dan Kosky set up the opener for in-form striker Moishe Lewis and Lolu Hibbert doubled the lead from a corner.

Eran Ben Ari grabbed a further two goals before the break as the home side failed to cope with the attacking power of the front pair and Jerusalem?s set-pieces.

The expected fight back from Modiin never materialised as Ben Ari was the first to secure his hat-trick just after the break.

And after a short-time off the field due to back spasms, Lewis then completed his treble with a quick-fire double to take his tally for the season to a hugely impressive eight goals in three matches.

Jerusalem?s eighth goal was probably the best of the night as Chilean winger Jose ?Misa? Misael Garcia Guarneros curled a cracking free-kick round the wall and into the far corner.

Modiin did gain a modicum of respectability by pulling a goal back late on through Matan Krozier.

Jerusalem manager Richard Pater said: "Having beaten last year?s champions England FC and won comfortably tonight, we have every confidence we will be there or there abouts come the end of the season."
