Chen's three hits lead Aeros over Binghamton: Minor-league report

Blair sharp in Carolina victory, Clippers rained out vs. Gwinnett.

AA Akron Aeros

Aeros 6, Mets 5 (10 innings): C Chun-Hsiu Chen went 3-for-3 with two RBI, scored the tying run in the ninth inning and singled in 2B Ryan Rohlinger for the winning run in the 10th as host Akron defeated Binghamton (N.Y.) in Eastern League play. SS Juan Diaz (.211) singled in Chen (.329) in the ninth.

Aeros LHP T.J. House (4.50) gave up four runs -- three earned -- in six innings. He struck out four. Rohlinger (.224) homered and scored three runs. Akron LF Jared Goedert (.400) doubled twice, singled and scored a run. Aeros RF Ben Copeland (.146) doubled, singled and drove in a run. Akron RHP Bryan Price (1.84) allowed one run in two innings, and RHP Preston Guilmet (3.75) pitched a scoreless ninth.

Advanced A Carolina Mudcats

Mudcats 5, Hillcats 2: RHP Kyle Blair (0.00) did not allow an earned run in four innings as Carolina won a Carolina League contest in Lynchburg, Va. Blair gave up an unearned run, three hits and two walks. He struck out three.

Mudcats LHP J.D. Reichenbach (1-0, 4.61) got the win in relief despite allowing one run, one hit and three walks in two innings. Carolina RHP Shawn Armstrong (0.00) hurled three scoreless innings for his first save. Mudcats 3B Tyler Cannon (.211) went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored, and LF Delvi Cid (.250) had two hits and two RBI.

A Lake County Captains

Captains idle: Lake County did not play Tuesday. The Captains begin a three-game Midwest League series at Dayton Wednesday.

AAA Columbus Clippers

Clippers vs. Braves, susp.: Columbus' International League home game against Gwinnett (Ga.) was suspended Tuesday night with the score 1-1 in the top of the fourth inning. 3B Andy LaRoche (.154) homered in the third inning for the Clippers. Columbus RHP Hector Ambriz (3.21 ERA) allowed one run, two hits and two walks in 2 innings. He struck out three.
