Visitors can lend a hand on the farm

GET your hands dirty at Swansea Community Farm.

The Grounds Gang will be ready and willing to help visitors take on practical and environmental tasks at the site, as well as in local heathland and woodland that needs some work to prepare it for the spring burst.

Anyone interested in nature and conservation is welcome to go along tomorrow from 10am.

Tasks to be done on the day include path laying, dry stone walling, block work, organic gardening, fencing, woodwork, willow weaving and more and some of the work takes a little muscle power, so this one is for adults only.

The Grounds Gang event goes ahead on Wednesday too, and there will be an introduction to beekeeping on the cards from 6.30pm at the farm.

The green-minded might also be interested in Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship training, available tomorrow and Wednesday from the Earth Project, Murton.

This is a free OCN accredited course for youth community workers and teachers. Advance booking is essential.
