Nancy Reuben in 200k revamp

Nancy Reuben Primary is to proceed with renovations thanks to 200,000 raised at a gala dinner.

Guest speaker Matthew Offord MP addressed the 230-strong audience and took questions from the floor.

The evening raised enough funds to enable the school to build an Early Years Unit which will house a playgroup, kindergarten and reception classes. The funds will also enable the school to renovate the junior playground.

Sara Kastner, chair, of the Hendon-based school's PTA, said: "We were delighted to reach our fundraising target and are excited that we will be able to provide our children with state of the art facilities in the near future."

In addition, the school choir sang for the diners.
