European Summary: Rain in Spain - Best in the east, Apr 21 - 06:03

Turning increasingly unsettled in the west, as eastern areas bask in the sunshine Thursday Some showery rain affecting Portugal and the western parts of Spain on Thursday. There could be a few showers for eastern coasts too. Some heavy showers for the west and north of France, but more eastern and southern areas should be drier with sunny spells. The heavier showers moving into the Low Countries in the afternoon. Germany, Poland, Austria and Hungary should be dry, although a few thunderstorms are possible through Switzerland. High pressure brings fine weather across Italy with lots of sunshine here throughout the day. More sunshine and fine weather for Turkey too with plenty of sunshine. It should stay sunny and warm for Bulgaria and Romania as well as being dry. Fair across Finland with lots of sunshine, and similar for the Baltic States. Plenty of sunshine for Sweden and Denmark as well as most of Norway, although there could be a few showers on western coasts.

Friday An unsettled look to the weather across Spain and Portugal for Friday. Cloud and showers are likely for many, and some of these may be heavy at times. Most of France should be dry and very warm, in a brisk south to southeast flow. For the Low Countries the weather remains dry with more sunshine to come, and apart from some thunderstorms in the south, Germany and Poland should be dry and sunny. Thundery showers affecting Switzerland, Hungary and Austria. Italy is likely to be having a dry day with more sunshine to come here. It should stay dry through Greece, just an odd shower in Turkey. Bulgaria and Romania will be dry with sunny spells. Some cloud for Finland, but plenty of sunshine across Finland. More sunshine to come over Sweden and Denmark should be fine too with more sunshine here. A few showers in northern and western Norway.
