SWANSEA-BORN superstar Catherine Zeta Jones was "outed" in her battle with bipolar disease, according to her husband Michael Douglas.
He appeared angry as he talked to chat show host Oprah Winfrey about Catherine checking into an institution in a bid to help tackle the illness.
In a statement which was released during a preview of Winfrey's interview, which is due to be shown next week, the 66-year-old said: "She was outed."
The Swansea-born Oscar winner's spell in a Connecticut mental facility first emerged in the American tabloid magazine the National Enquirer.
The story prompting her to release a statement revealing she was suffering from the condition.
Husband Michael, who announced in January that he had defeated throat cancer, also speaks candidly about his own heath problems, which saw him diagnosed with a throat tumour last year, and other issues which he and his family are facing.
He said: "My eldest son is in federal prison, my ex-wife is suing me and I got cancer."
