Adam Abraham's three RBI leads Akron over Bowie: Minor League Report

Wild pitch sinks Clippers in 10th, Urshela's four RBI spark Carolina win, error costly in Captains' loss, Lake Erie toppled by Joliet.

AA Akron Aeros

Aeros 9, Baysox 5: Adam Abraham (.259) drove home three runs with three hits, leading Akron to an Eastern League victory over Bowie at Canal Park.

Abraham snapped a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring single off Cole McCurry (0-7, 6.46) in the seventh inning. He also hit a two-run double in the eighth. Abraham is tied for the team lead in RBI with 20.

Bryan Price (2-1, 2.60) earned the win in relief for the Aeros. He entered the game in the sixth after the Baysox rallied for five runs off Giovanni Soto (4.31).

Price worked 21/3 innings, allowing one hit. He walked one and struck out one.

AAA Columbus Clippers

Bisons 3, Clippers 2, 10 innings: Hector Ambriz's wild pitch in the 10th inning allowed Josh Satin to score the winning run as host Buffalo defeated Columbus in an International League game Wednesday.

Ambriz (0-1, 3.03 ERA) took the loss. Columbus starter David Huff (2.88) allowed two runs on three hits in eight innings. Buffalo starter Jenrry Mejia held the Clippers to two runs on two hits before relievers Josh Edgin and Elvin Ramirez (3-0) each threw two hitless innings.

Advanced A Carolina Mudcats

Mudcats 5, Blue Rocks 3: Giovanny Urshela (.252) went 2-for-4 with four RBI as host Carolina beat Wilmington in a Carolina League game.

Starter Francisco Jimenez (5-2, 3.65) got the win after allowing seven hits and one run over six innings.

A Lake County Captains

Whitecaps 1, Captains 0: Western Michigan's unearned run in the sixth inning was the difference in a Midwest League game at Classic Park.

Brandon Loy scored after reaching on an error by Todd Hankins. Lake County starter Joseph Colon (5-5, 2.66) took the loss after allowing seven hits over six innings. Thomas Collier (3-4, 2.60) went the distance for the Whitecaps, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out seven.

Independent Lake Erie Crushers

Slammers 3, Crushers 1: Steven Maxwell (2-1, 2.46) held Lake Erie to three hits and one run over seven innings as Joliet beat the host Crushers in Frontier League play. Crushers starter Eric Gonzalez-Diaz (0-3, 6.06) went seven innings, allowing all three Slammers runs in the second inning.
