Lehigh Valley snaps Columbus' 13-game win streak: Minor-league report

Corey Kluber (0-3, 7.43) allowed seven runs (six earned) on six hits and four walks in five innings.

AAA Columbus Clippers

IronPigs 10, Clippers 4: Lehigh Valley roughed up Clippers right-handed starter Corey Kluber and won the International League game Thursday in Columbus, ending the Clippers' 13-game winning streak.

Kluber (0-3, 7.43) allowed seven runs (six earned) on six hits and four walks in five innings. He struck out three.

Columbus managed just four hits, one of which was a Luis Valbuena (.298) double.

AA Akron Aeros

Curve 4, Aeros 3: Akron LF Tim Fedroff (.307) had three hits and 1B Matt McBride (.234) hit his third homer of the season but the Aeros lost the Eastern League game in Altoona, Pa.

Lefty Matt Packer (0-4, 4.67) started for Akron and pitched 61/3 innings. He gave up four runs (three earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out five.

Advanced A Kinston Indians

Indians 3, Nationals 1: Righty Brett Brach pitched 61/3 effective innings to lead the K-Tribe to the Carolina League win over Potomac in Kinston, N.C.

Brach (3-1, 1.25) allowed one earned run on two hits. He walked three and fanned five.

3B Adam Abraham (.247) and SS Justin Toole (.301) each had two hits for Kinston.

A Lake County Captains

Hot Rods 9, Captains 8: Lake County 1B Jesus Aguilar (.237) hit a three-run home run to highlight a seven-run second inning but Bowling Green (Ky.) rallied to win the Midwest League game in Eastlake.

Lake County 3B Giovanny Urshela (.266) hit his third homer of the season and had three RBI. Aguilar's homer was his seventh.

The Hot Rods scored four runs in the eighth off left-handed reliever J.D. Reichenbach (3.98) to take an 8-7 lead. The Captains tied it in their half of the inning only to see Bowling Green push across the winning run in the top of the ninth against righty Nickolas Sarianides (2-1, 2.57).
