LAKEWOOD, Ohio - St. Edward guard Delbert Love, who averaged 17 points and a team-leading 5.5 rebounds while leading the Eagles to a fourth straight regional appearance, has decided to play for Kennesaw State, a Division I college about 20 miles north of Atlanta.

Love, 6-0, said he chose KSU after considering St. Francis (Pa.), New Hampshire, Findlay and Indiana Purdue-Ft. Wayne. He became one of the first recruits of new coach Lewis Preston, a former assistant at Penn State, Florida, Notre Dame and Coastal Carolina.

Love, a four-year letter-winner, finished his high school career with more than 1,000 points. He said he is undecided on a major but is considering something business-related.

Tallmadge hires boys basketball coach: Tallmadge has hired former Green assistant Aaron Hinkel as its boys basketball coach.

Hinkel, who spent nine seasons at Green, replaces Darrel Ayers, who resigned in March after two seasons. Most recently Hinkel was the head coach at Lake Center Christian in Hartville.
