Students building for the future

CONSTRUCTION students at Neath Port Talbot College are getting hands-on experience with the area's biggest landlord.

They are shadowing NPT Homes tradesmen to find out more about their trade.

James Lewis, Jareth Jones, Luke Jones and Carl Williams are studying construction courses via Pathways and the college.

NPT Homes director of assets Steve Tucker said: "As an organisation we are committed to community regeneration.

"Offering those studying in the area the opportunity to gain some valuable onsite experience with us is important but also a vital part of their development and subsequent ability to secure employment.

"It is a pleasure to be able to give them this work experience and we hope it benefits them with their exams and when they enter the world of work."

Jareth said: "I have gained loads of experience and feel this will help me with my aim of gaining a plastering apprenticeship."
